The new look was Christian Diors’ launch into a fabulous career in 1947, which gave women a new luxurious look after the austerity of wartime. It used feminine, soft shapes, beautiful fabric and full skirts. This marked a change of direction and the rapid growth of the fashion industry, post war.
These revolutionary designs have now inspired the Dior fashion houses latest fashion offering – ‘Dior Couture F/W 08 Couture 'New Look' Inspired by iconic 40's supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives...’
"The inspiration: Christian Dior’s original “New Look” of 1947, his curvaceous “Bar” jacket, and the iconic first super-model, Lisa Fonssagrives, wife of the fashion photographer, Irving Penn."

I really love the revival of previously successful trends with new technology and tastes. Looking into the past can provide as much inspiration as raw images and experiences.
I think that old images are magical and really mysterious, the black and white photographs are so much more dramatic than colour photos. Fashion is fascinating and effect the way we express our selves, and view our environment. The drama of haute couture has always been fascinating and the revival of such a momentous movement is very exciting.
